Privacy Policy

01Overview

TextToPDF is a free, client-assisted PDF generation tool. We built it with one guiding principle: your content belongs to you. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any text, documents, or personal information you enter into the app.

02What We Do Not Collect

• The text or markdown you type into the editor
• Any charts or data points you create
• The PDF files generated from your content
• Your name, email address, or any personal identifier
• Account credentials (there are no accounts)
• Payment information (the tool is free)

03How PDF Generation Works

Your PDF is built entirely inside your own browser. The renderer (PDFKit) is downloaded to your device as part of the page, and both the live preview and the file you download are produced locally — your document is never transmitted to us. We do operate a PDF endpoint at /api/generate-pdf as a fallback for browsers with JavaScript disabled and as a public API; it is only used if you deliberately call it, and when it is called it generates the file in memory and discards the request immediately, writing nothing to disk or to any database.

04Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and no third-party analytics scripts are loaded on this site. The editor does save your drafts — text, settings and chart definitions — to your browser's localStorage so your work survives a refresh. That data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can erase it at any time by deleting your drafts in the editor or clearing site data in your browser.

05Third-Party Services

TextToPDF is hosted on infrastructure that may log standard server access data (IP address, request timestamp, HTTP method, response code) for operational purposes such as security monitoring and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used for profiling or advertising. We do not sell or share this data with third parties.

06Children's Privacy

TextToPDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our service, please contact us so we can address it promptly.

07Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of TextToPDF after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
